It’s simple. People trust other’s opinions, especially if that person is someone they adore. And in the present age, Influencers play this part very well. The audiences, who follow them, trust their choices and are always eager to know what they use.

Thus, Influencer marketing has emerged as one of the most effective ways of marketing in present times. Such marketing can help you create strong visibility of your brand which also leads to accentuating its worth.

In my opinion, these are mistakes you must avoid to make the most of influencer marketing:

  • An Influencer with more followers is better for your brand

The idea behind influencer marketing is to make your visible brand but to the right set of audience. Hence, opting for influencers only because they have many followers won’t make sense to your brand. That influencer must have the audience who are relevant to your brand. This will truly help you to create visibility of the brand.

Thus, we had to do Influencer marketing for the men’s grooming brand – Men’s Lab, we specially curated a list of about 20-30 influencers who had about 20,000-30,000 followers each. Once the marketing started, we got about 600-700 views on the videos they created and helped the brand to gain the attention of its specific target audience.

  • Tell the influencers how to do it

In the year 2018, we asked about 15-17 influential bloggers of Ahmedabad to attend a product launch of the cosmetic brand – Paese. There were no further commitments to it. But soon after the launch, the social media pages of the brand had gained 1200+ new organic followers and had 1.5 times higher reach than we expected. Moreover, we received about 137 tags. This proved that influencers must not be told on how to attract their audience to your brand.

Basically, Influencers build their audience carefully. The audience who follow them is fond of interests and skillsets of the influence. Thus, if you have selected an influencer for your brand, give them some freedom and you can be assured that you will create a strong visibility among the right audience.

  • Expecting immediate returns

Influencer marketing can take a considerable amount of time to create visibility of the brand, further accentuating its worth. You can’t expect astonishing results within a day or two. But, if you have chosen the right influencers for your brand and have given them the freedom to attract the audience on what they feel, you can be assured that you will get great results.

Also, it is advisable to do frequent projects with the influencer you have already worked with so that the trust factor among people exists and they not only use but also believe in your products.
